Picture description

Mariana Lyra, visiting researcher at COSMOS will give a presentation entitled: ‘Fish out of water: a businesswoman’s walk in the shoes of activists for the anti-mining movement in Brazil”.

The recent increase in conflicts between communities and companies indicates that corporate approaches and organizational theories alone cannot prevent tensions. A multidisciplinary approach is needed to more broadly understand community resistance of large projects. This presentation is regarding research conducted by following anti-mining activists in Brazil. By understanding their perspectives, the author was able to improve her understanding about these collective actions, prompting her to see corporation from a new perspective.

The event will take place on Tuesday 15th of March, from 5.30PM to 6.30PM at Palazzo Strozzi
