Federica Guardigli is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, Scuola Normale Superiore, where she is working at the PRIN project Refuture (The Return of the Future: democracy and political planning in the age of COVID-19 and climate change). She also works as a teaching assistant in Political Sciences at the University of Bologna.
Federica is about to finish her PhD in “Global studies. Rights, justice and politics” at the University of Macerata. Her PhD thesis looked at the medium-term consequences of the pandemic on progressive social movement organizations in Italy and France. During her doctorate, she was a visiting fellow at the Centre for European Studies and comparative politics at Sciences Po, Paris. Before starting the academic path, she gained significant experience as an intern in EU institutions and at ONU level, where she covered development cooperation, food assistance and humanitarian crises matters.
Her main research interests relate to social movements, political participation, gender, (in) equality and democracy; social justice in EU. Current research focuses on how social movements imagine and practice the future in crises-ridden democracies
