The next Firework Seminar is taking place on April 28th at 3PM in Aula Pollaiolo, Palazzo Strozzi, Sarrak Kassem will  explore how migrant workers within Europe’s logistics sector shape forms of intersectional solidarity, labor organizing and disruptive collective action. Drawing on fieldwork and interviews with Amazon and last-mile delivery workers, works-council members, and union organizers in Italy and Germany, Sarrah examines how migrant workers—particularly from the Middle East and North Africa—navigate precarious working conditions, labor regimes and migration contexts while organizing on the shop floor. Taking an intersectional approach to labor means centering migrant workers’ agency: moving beyond portrayals of them as victims or Others and grasping them instead as actively shaping contemporary labor struggles in Europe.
