We are pleased to invite you to attend the screening of the film “Portuali“, which will take place at Palazzo Strozzi, Altana Room, at 16.30 on 3 November.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Perla Sardella (director), José Nivoi (CALP, Global Sumud Flotilla participant), and Donatella della Porta (Scuola Normale Superiore).

The film describes the political struggle waged by C.A.L.P. — the Autonomous Collective of Port Workers of Genoa — between 2019 and 2023. It follows their strikes against the so-called “ship of arms” and their efforts to build a trade union capable of addressing the challenges of our time. It tells a story of workers fighting for safety in the workplace, standing against militarism, and reaching out to other dockworkers across the Mediterranean.
