Giuseppe is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Political and Social Science at the Scuola Normale Superiore. He holds a BA in Philosophy at the University of Bologna (IT), a Research Master in Philosophy and a Master of Science in Human Geography at Radboud University (NL). In the last two years, he has worked for Borderline Sicilia, an NGO monitoring border practices and providing legal support for asylum seekers in Sicily.
His research focuses on how the implementation of the asylum system has facilitated the exploitation of asylum seekers in the EU. He is interested in the role of reception centres in creating a racialised regime excluding migrants from civil society and in migrant organised strategies aimed at overcoming this exclusionary regime.
