Daniela is a PhD candidate at the Scuola Normale Superiore and Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. Her research focuses on EU-supported security assistance policies across the Mediterranean and their effects at the local level, by adopting a standpoint theory perspective.
Daniela completed her BA in International Relations and Development Studies at the University of Turin and subsequently obtained a MSc from the London School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and an MA from Sapienza University of Rome with honours. She has gained prior experience working at the School of Transnational Governance of the European University Institute, at the European External Action Service, and in the no-profit sector.
Research interests: Post-liberal interventions, transnational security governance, security assistance, bordering processes, global War practices and contentious politics, mainly (but not exclusively) in the Middle east and North Africa.
