Lucie Hunter is a PhD candidate in Political Science and Sociology at Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence, Italy, and a member of the Center on Social Movement Studies (COSMOS). She holds an MA in Political Science from Central European University in Budapest and a BA in IRES from Masaryk University in Brno. Her research lies at the intersection of social movements, art theory, and cultural studies, with a specific focus on artistic activism and protest visual analysis.
In her PhD project, she investigates artistic contentious performances in authoritarian regimes, particularly in the region of the former Eastern Bloc.
While not at university, she experiments with creative research dissemination practices through documentary filmmaking and podcast production, regularly contributes to both research and lifestyle online media outlets, and with her peers runs an Aesthetics and Politics discussion group and Substack channel called ArtPol.
