At present time, Davide Serafino is a research fellow at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa.
Before he has been a postdoctoral research fellow at the Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Storici of Naples, conducting his research in the section “Problemi dello Stato”, specifically on the role of the Italian Communist Party in fighting against armed groups. Previously, he has achieved his PhD degree in contemporary history at the University of Padua with a thesis on the phenomenon of armed struggle in Genoa during the Seventies. This study focuses particularly on the relationship between territory, political and social space and armed groups. He recently published the book “La lotta armata a Genova. Dal Gruppo 22 ottobre alle Brigate rosse (1969-1981)” (2016). He got his master degree in contemporary records management offered by Archivio Centrale dello Stato, with a thesis on “movement’s archives” during the Seventies.
