Yunus is a PhD candidate in Political Science and Sociology at Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS) and an active member of the Center on Social Movement Studies (COSMOS).
His current research investigates the biographical outcomes of social movements, with a particular focus on activist trajectories. By employing a processual approach, his work explores the shifts in activist trajectories in parallel with the institutionalization and non-institutionalization processes unfolding throughout the dynamic interplay across micro, meso, and macro-level ingredients.
Before joining SNS, Yunus obtained his BA in Political Science and International Relations from Istanbul University, with a double major in Sociology. Later on, he earned a master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Paris-Cité, where he examined the dynamic interplay between social movements, public sphere, and democracy. He also holds a master’s degree in Political Science from Galatasaray University, where he analysed diverging trajectories of contemporary social movements.
