Nikolaos Saridakis is a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Political and Social
Sciences of the Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence. He is a member of the Center
on Social Movement Studies (COSMOS) and the Center for Political Research at
Panteion University. He holds a PhD in Political Science from Panteion University,
where his dissertation offered a comparative analysis of the drivers of far-right
violence across twelve European countries, supported by a scholarship from the
Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (ELIDEK). He also holds a BA in
Political Science and Public Administration from the National and Kapodistrian
University of Athens, and an MA in Comparative Politics from Sciences Po, Paris. He
is currently involved in the CIDAPE Horizon project, as well as the DeMoLISH and
CRITIC projects, both funded by ELIDEK.
His research focuses on political participation and collective action, with a particular
emphasis on far-right politics in Europe. His work examines the drivers of far-right
political violence, the interactions between far-right parties and movements, and the
normalization of far-right ideas. He also studies the implications of these dynamics
for democratic institutions, as well as the online and offline dimensions of hate speech
and hate crime.
