Pietro Casari is a PhD student in Political Science and Sociology at the Scuola
Normale Superiore and a member of the Center on Social Movement Studies
(COSMOS), where he co-founded ‘tied up’, a working group on Social Network
Analysis and Relational approach.
His current research focuses on events and temporalities within social movement
and collective action processes, adopting a relational perspective. In particular,
situating his research at the intersection of Social Movement Studies and Digital
Politics, he is interested in investigating the development process of the digital
rights field in Europe within the last decades.
Pietro holds a B.A. in Development Economics and International Cooperation
(Università degli Studi di Firenze), with a specialisation in Migration, Health, and
Rights. After working in an asylum seekers Reception Centre, he decided to continue
his studies, obtaining a M.A. degree (cum laude) in Sociology and Social Research, at
the Università degli Studi di Trento. Here, he had the opportunity to be involved
with the research activities and seminars promoted in the Sociology department,
developing a specific interest in Social Network Analysis methodology.
Research interests: Temporality and collective action, Digital Rights, Processual-Relational Approach, and Network Analysis
