Manès Weisskircher

Manès Weisskircher is currently a PhD researcher at the Department of Social and Political Sciences at the European University Institute. His dissertation project focuses on the animal rights movement. Apart from that, he is also interested in other social movements and in political economy. Previously, he studied political science, international development and economic history in Vienna and London. In 2011, he published a study on the disciplinary actions of the University of Vienna against “undisciplined” students during National Socialism (together with A. Krysl) as part of the book “Universität und Disziplin” (“University and Discipline”; co-authored with A. Huber, K. Kniefacz, A. Krysl; LIT Verlag). His working experiences include research assistance on various party politics projects at the Department of Government at the University of Vienna.
