Andrea is a Research Associate at the Center on Social Movement Studies (COSMOS). In 2014, he earned his PhD at the School of Politics and International Relations, Australian National University. During his PhD research he worked as a member of the Center for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance under the supervision of Prof. John Dryzek, investigating the deliberative democratic qualities of public sphere organizations. Before joining COSMOS Andrea has worked as a Research Assistant (Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis, University of Canberra, Australia), Hoover Postoctoral Fellow (Hoover Chair of Social and Economic Ethics, Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium) and Postdoctoral Researcher (University of Lille 3, France). His research interests are deliberative democracy including public deliberation and governance, democratic theory, social movements, environmental politics and history of participatory practices.
