“Comunicare e partecipare durante una pandemia” (pp.224, Il Mulino) is the result of the work conducted by a group research at Cosmos.  Focusing on the Covid-19 pandemic, the book offers an in-depth analysis on issues such as participation, institutional and bottom-up, participatory and deliberative democracy, science and risk communication. The examination of the Italian case is based on qualitative empirical data interpreted in the light of the most up-to-date sociological and political theories. The result is an analysis that develops contents relevant for broader debates on social movements, active citizenship, participation and contemporary communication. The book identifies the processes and visions that characterised the activity of civil society during the health emergency, considered within a crisis context strongly influenced by the activity of other actors, specifically politics, the media and experts.
