Damla Keşkekci is a PhD candidate in Political Science and Sociology at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence, and a member of the Center on Social Movement Studies (COSMOS). Her research focuses on the far-right social movements in Europe, and their interactions with other actors, such as political parties. In her doctoral project, she investigates the transnational diffusion of far-right social movements in Europe, with an interest in discourses, repertoires of contention, and organizational structures.
Damla holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, with a minor degree in Political Science and Public Administration, from Hacettepe University in Ankara. She has two Master of Arts degrees, one in Sociology: European Societies from Freie Universität Berlin, and the second in Research Training Program in Social Sciences from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Before joining COSMOS, she worked as a student assistant at the Global Governance research unit of the WZB Berlin Social Science Center; and at the Conflict and Consensus research unit of the German Centre for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM-Institut). Damla is also a member of the Institute for Social Movement Studies (ipb, Institut für Protest- und Bewegungsforschung) in Berlin.
