On May 23rd, 2018, Donatella della Porta will be participating in the prestigious event series of the German Federal President “Forum Bellevue on the Future of Democracy”. In this occasion, professor della Porta will be discussing with the Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Christoph Möllers and David Van Reybrouck about anti-politics, anti-establishment and the dangers of indifference to the political to addess the 2018 topic of the Forum “Society without Politics – Testing Liberal Democracies”.

The Forum Bellevue makes a contribution to the critical and open debate on current and fundamental issues and thus to our liberal democracy. At the Forum’s events, the Federal President regularly discusses topics such as the effects of digitization, the impact of demographic change or how much inequality a democracy can with German and international partners from science, politics, culture, business and civil society.  The forum aims to provide space for controversial issues and new perspectives, and to seek open discussion on the conditions for success and the challenges of liberal democracy.
