Hugo Joel is currently a Post-Doctoral researcher in the Center for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Cambridge. There, he works on Leverhulme-funded project Conspiracy& Democracy directed by Professor Sir Richard J Evans (CRASSH, Cambridge), Professor John Naughton (CRASSH, Cambridge), and Professor David Runciman (POLIS, Cambridge).
Hugo Leal worked as a PhD students at the European University Institute, where he worked on his thesis entitled “A Complexity Approach to the Emergence of Social Movements in the Middle East and North Africa Region: The Case of Egypt.” and defended in 2017.
